Once a wasteland located in Huizhou Tonghu Ecological Smart Zone, the start-up area of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park is building itself into a new intelligent manufacturing town for integrated development of the town itself, industries and its people, where buildings for industrial purposes have sprung up, more than 20 projects have been capped, north of 100 single buildings have been erected, and roads, parks, living facilities and other infrastructures are being gradually improved.
As one of the three major China-Korea industrial parks in China, China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park is in full swing, highlighting project construction in its start-up area.
Changes have taken place in the start-up area of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park, including broader roads for smooth traffic, newly completed park with luxuriant vegetation, newly built well-equipped intelligent exhibition hall, etc.
In most cases, difficulties and pain points like supporting facility shortage were recorded in some new industrial parks during early stage of construction. Under this circumstance, overall considerations have been made by the start-up area of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park from the very beginning of park planning to address the concerns of the resident enterprises.
The most obvious achievement is observed in road development. In the past, backward rural roads or narrow passes failed to meet the needs for the construction of a modern park. In order to build high-standard transportation infrastructure, the start-up area of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park has invested nearly 10 billion yuan for the construction of 8 batches of 33 municipal roads with a total length of about 62.5 kilometers.
Up to now, the arterial road network in and beyond the start-up area has been basically completed and opened to traffic, and successive efforts are being made to improve such supporting facilities as intelligent parking buildings, bus terminals, sanitation facilities, medical and healthcare institutions, commercial services.
In order to promote the extensive integration of the production area and the living area, Tonghu Ecological Smart Zone innovatively launched a project for the construction of comprehensive service facilities and intensive supporting facilities in the start-up area of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park by using lands for industrial purposes. Thanks to this project, public service facilities such as staff dormitories, cultural and sports facilities and public canteens have been offered for the resident enterprises in a centralized fashion. At present, the first phase of the centralized supporting facilities is in the trial operation stage and is waiting for full acceptance, while the second and third phases are also under construction. After completion, these phases will benefit about 10,000 people.
It is due to the continued release of favorable policies and the continuous improvement of supporting facilities that the start-up area of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park has attracted a host of high-quality projects. A total of 83 projects have been introduced, with a total planned investment of about 64.65 billion yuan and an expected production output of about 126.06 billion yuan; A total of 46 projects have broken ground, 11 projects have been completed, and 3 projects have been put into operation.
The accelerated construction of the start-up area is a miniature of the development of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park. According to the plan, the core cluster of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park consists of five areas, namely, Zhongkai Area (Zhongkai High-tech Zone’s High-end Industrial Cooperation Zone and Tonghu Ecological Smart Zone inclusive), Daya Bay Chemical and Bonded Zone, Huizhou Airport Economic Industrial Park (Huiyang District and Huidong County involved), Huicheng District High-tech Industrial Park, and Luofu Health-care International Cooperation Park.
Overall speaking, new progresses and good news of project construction have been reported in these areas. As of the end of March 2022, the five areas of China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park have introduced 165 projects with a total planned investment of 190.2 billion yuan and an expected production output of 308.9 billion yuan. Among these projects, 128 have been supplied with land, 114 have broken ground, and 32 have been completed or put into production.
Looking into the future, China-Korea (Huizhou) Industrial Park will work to seize opportunities in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Area of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics. By means of integration with Shenzhen and GBA, Huizhou is rolling out its plan for building a high-quality living circle suitable for living, working and travelling.
